Following the lead of our beloved Leslie Edmundson who hosted an SCIG community party every October at her home in Northern Virginia, we reignited the initiative in 2021 by gathering at Temple Hill Farm in Central Virginia for food, fellowship, and a farm tour. 

Through collaboration with the Arapawa Goat Breeders Association, we hope to continue the building and strengthening of our two communities.

Can't travel to Virginia? No problem! We have you covered. How can you be involved?

• Join the online ‘meeting’ at 2 o’clock for conversation followed by a virtual meet-and-greet of the Temple Hill Farm goats

• Host an online farm tour so we can meet your goats and get ideas from your farm set up

• Do a virtual demo of something you do well with your goats - hoof trimming, bolusing, milking, soap making, hide tanning, goat meat recipes, training to a lead, etc. 

• Use this as an opportunity to network for goats.  Meet breeders.  Set up sales, purchases, and transport.

1. Director 1 - three-year term ending 2026

2. Director 2 - two-year term ending 2025

3. Treasurer - three-year term ending 2026

Call for nominations

You may nominate yourself or a committed SCIGBA member. All nominees must have been members of the association for an entire year. Nominations should be sent to Secretary John Carroll at john@willowvalleyfarms.org.

All candidates should complete the candidate information form by 11:59 pm Eastern on  April 30, 2023, and submit it to Secretary John.  These forms will be sent to all eligible voters.  

Online voting for the three Board openings will be conducted via an electronic ballot from May 15 to May 19, 2023.  All eligible voters will receive ballot information on May 15.  Results will be announced at the Annual meeting held on May 20th. 

Note:  Annual members, please ensure you have renewed your membership for 2023 if you wish to be eligible for office &/or to vote.  Associated Registry must receive membership renewals by April 30, 2023.
