The San Clemente Island Goat Breeders Association (SCIGBA) is a member driven organization dedicated to a single goal: Creating a genetically diverse, sustainable population of San Clemente Island Goats. We are a uniquely positioned launching pad for a wide variety of breed-oriented projects initiated by the SCI Goat breeder community, giving them a direct voice in the future of the San Clemente Island Goat breed.

Types of membership:

We offer three categories of membership: Voting & Non-Voting

Voting Member types are Active (Adult), Herd Managers, Sponsored, and Lifetime. Note: Active (Adult), Herd Managers, Sponsored are all annual from Jan 1 to Dec 31. Fourth quarter new members will be renewed for the following year automatically.

A voting member is an individual who is 18 years of age or older, a family household, corporation, or partnership who owns, breeds or makes all management decisions regarding the herd as a whole as well as the individual goats of San Clemente Island Goats. Voting Members are allowed 1 vote and are a eligible to hold office in the SCIGBA. Each herd is only allowed to be represented by a single vote.

Non-Voting Members are Junior and Honorary.

A Junior Member is an individual under the age of 18 years old who owns or breeds San Clemente Island Goats under their own herd name. Honorary Membership is bestowed upon individuals and organizations, by the SCIGBA board of directors, who have shown exemplary support to the SCIGBA and the breed. Non-Voting Members enjoys the benefits of membership and are welcome to attend SCIGBA meetings but have no voting rights and are not eligible to hold office. They may hold volunteer positions within the SCIGBA.
